Trying the Maibock

It looks prettier than it tastes right now.  This was brewed on 09-01-2012, about 5 weeks ago at the time of writing.  The taste seems a bit medicinal at the finish, with a strong alcohol heat.  With the OG at 1.068, this is pushing 6.6% ABV.  6 weeks should be the minimum lager time, and if you consider primary for two weeks, it has really been lagering for just 3 weeks now.  Ugh!  I was hoping to get the use of the refrigerator back this weekend for ales.  I'm not sure that will happen, as it either just sucks or needs additional time still...probably the later.

It does seems a bit dark for a Maibock/Helles Bock, and it may end up more of a split between that and a regular Traditional Bock.  This was only my second ever (and probably last) all extract brew (don't tell anyone).  The reason was really just to try out my new Turkey Fryer equipment at the time.  And now it has kept captive any additional use of the refrigerator.
